Palermo's Workers Union's Slice of Justice web site
To SLAC work on Palermo's strike newspaper articles, videos and more...
Workers at Milwaukee-based pizza company Palermo's Villa have been on strike since June 1st over health and safety concerns in the factory. When workers approached management, they responded with retaliation and threats and refused to recognize the union the workers formed. As a result, the company is currently under investigation by the National Labor Relations Board for unfair labor charges.
The University of Wisconsin has a contract for Palermo's pizza for use in food service venues, and a licensing agreement in which Palermo's can sell their pizza as Bucky Badger pizza. We demand the University cut its ties with Palermo's.
