make sure to state  *what *where *why *when *who *how
and part of the who is some contact info - a phone number, web page, email address, something, for if people have questions
 
(see below for contacts for newspaper, activist calendar, uw campus reservations, etc)

 - flyering library mall, at other events, cafeterias, etc
 - chalking
 - posters - esp. big lecture halls, cafeterias, computer labs, gyms, library mall & state st, anyplace large numbers gather, 
       * including ag, engineering, medical school, nursing, pharmacy buildings *
       and for events anybody (non-studenst) can come, public places with bulletin boards -     
       coffeehouses, laundromats, grocery stores, etc.; on the street in neighborhoods - campus & downtown, willy st, monroe st, 
       & others that have some sort of central little shopping and gathering area
 - flyers in dorm mailboxes - get permission & numbers for each dorm - can we still do this in 2018?
 - newspaper calendars: 
    if public invited - isthmus, wisconsin state journal, cap times, & campus papers - daily cardinal, badger herald
    for uw students only  - daily cardinal, badger herald
 - letter to editor, opinion column  - badger herald, daily cardinal
 - paid ad
 - press release
 - madison activist calendar
 - radio - wort, wsum, other?
 - local television stations?
 - facebook - make slac event, post in slac group & on slac page, invite everybody, post on your own personal site
 - twitter - tweet as slac, tweet as yourself
 - phone bank 
 - email lists - slac email and send to other lists you are on, and for big special event, email whole campus
 - table at unions, cafeterias, mall, anyplace else we can table
 - class raps
 - signs or banners - banner drop, or have a prop/flag/banner on library mall or bascom hill, bascom hill signs 
 - some sort of small action and hand out flyers and tell people about event
 - street theater
 - if other groups are involved, try to make sure they do publicity, too
